Things to do in LA
Los Angeles has several airports, but the biggest and most central one is Los Angeles International (LAX). It’s big and crowded, but has the most flights every day. Most international flights from Oz will arrive in LAX. If you are travelling to LA from within the US, it’ll probably save you time and hassle to fly into one of the smaller, domestic airports. The John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) are good options. Keep in mind that Los Angeles doesn’t have a very extensive public transportation system, so you’ll want to rent a car (or grab an Uber).
Food in LA
Los Angeles has an insane amount of incredible places to eat. From hip diners and donut shops to world-class cuisine, you can find pretty much anything you’re in the mood for in LA. Stuck on where to begin? We recommend finding a chicken and waffles spot for a good late-night munchies session. (Bruxie in Huntington Beach is our fav, or hit local legend Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n Waffles!) LA is also where a lot of food trends explode, so track down some of the latest trends and give them a try. From cronuts to Korean tacos to acai bowls, there’s a bit of everything!
Things to do in LA
LA is literally packed with things to do. If it’s your first time to Los Angeles, don’t miss out on some of the obvious must-do’s: walk down Hollywood Blvd, hike to the top of the Hollywood sign, and attend a live taping of one of your favourite TV shows. Wanna get cultured? Check out the Getty Museum or the Griffith Observatory.
Beaches in LA
Aside from Hollywood, LA is famous for its sunshine and surf, so you definitely need to hit the beach while you’re there. Santa Monica Pier, the famous Huntington Beach and Venice Beach can be crowded at times, so check out some lesser-known (but still amazing!) beaches. San Clemente, Newport Beach and Malibu are all great options. Plus, lounging in the sun for awhile will recharge you for exploring more of the city.
