What are the main Bali airports, and how do I get from them to central Bali?

Bali’s only international airport is the Ngurah Rai International Airport. You’ll usually see it referred to as simply the Denpasar Airport. It’s about a 15-minute drive from Kuta, which is renowned for its surfing and epic nightlife. Denpasar, Bali’s capital city, is about 30 minutes away. You can hire a taxi or a driver from the airport or take a bus to nearby cities.

Generally, the best time to visit Bali is between April-May or September-October. These months make up Bali’s “shoulder season,” aka, the season in between peak travel times and off-season. Bali’s best weather—warm, sunny and dry—occurs between April and October, but June through August can be very busy and crowded months in Bali. If you’re looking for a winter escape, book early, or travel right before or right after peak months.
