The main airport in Brisbane is the aptly-named Brisbane International Airport. Even if you’re flying domestically, your flight will likely land here.

Brisbane Airport / BNE: Brisbane Airport is located around 16km from the city centre, and a journey between the two only takes 20 minutes or so. You have a number of options, but the cheapest (and often fastest) is the Airtrain, which runs every 15 minutes on-peak and every 30 minutes off-peak, costing about $15. You can also hop in a taxi, which will cost about $50.

Brisbane is a modern city and a year-round destination. The climate is subtropical, with the most humid and rainy times occurring from December to March. Because of that, accommodation and the like is cheaper during the summer months than other times of the year. The most comfortable time to visit is from March to May, when the rainy season is over and the days are drier, and also from September to November. Keep in mind that the month-long Brisbane Arts Festival runs throughout September, which brings a bit more crowds to the city but is definitely worth travelling for.
